organizing team of WAC, makes about this 8th edition of the World All Styles
Four days of championship, 6312 athletes called to compete, 80 nationalities in
competition, 550 competitive categories in action, 1914 medals awarded, 638
champions found: these are the main figures that translate the dimension of this
mega event, the largest martial arts and sports combat in Portugal.
Organized by the Portuguese Federation of Lohan Tao and the United World Sport
Kempo Federation (UWSKF) the WAC is one of the key tests of this Olympic project of
unification and recognition of Sport Kempo as an Olympic modality, opinion shared by
Kyoshi Valer Papp, president of UWSKF. It is at the WAC that kempo athletes from all
over the world meet to compete in their chosen mode, living in sport harmony with
more than 32 modalities involved in this championship.
Also, Amatto Zaharia, president of the International Federation of Kempo, emphasizes
the quality and dimension that the WAC has gained, recognizing the decisive role that
this championship has had in the worldwide affirmation of kempo, not forgetting the
organizing capacity and hospitality of Portugal.
For Caldas da Rainha, which hosts this World Cup for the third consecutive year,
besides being already home to Lohan Tao and national kempo, it is also the city of
